79030N, BLACK BAY FIFTY-EIGHT, BLACK DIAL

Sold39mmStainless Steel

A Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight ref. 79030N, black dial and black bezel, with gilt accents doing the heavy lifting. The gold-toned markers, text and snowflake hands give the dial a warm glow against all that black. The 39mm steel case is slimmer and more compact than the original Black Bay, and it wears like a vintage diver. Inside is the manufacture calibre MT5402, COSC-certified with a 70-hour power reserve. The case is rated to 200 meters. It is fitted to a steel bracelet.

The Fifty-Eight launched in 2018 and was named for 1958, the year Tudor introduced its ref. 7924, the Big Crown Submariner rated to 200 meters. Tudor took those dimensions and that spirit seriously, building a 39mm case and a new, smaller manufacture calibre, the MT5402, specifically to fit it. The result answered collectors who wanted a diver with genuinely vintage proportions and modern internals. It became one of the most talked about releases of its year. The Fifty-Eight is now a cornerstone of the Black Bay family.

The size is the story. At 39mm and slim, it sits on the wrist the way a 1950s diver did, and Tudor engineered an entire movement to make that possible. Then look at the gilt: gold-toned markers and text on black, the warm look of early tool watches, without any of the fragility. The snowflake hands are Tudor's own, a signature that dates back to its divers of the 1960s. Seventy hours of reserve and 200 meters of water resistance make it a watch you never have to think about. It may be the best proportioned modern diver of its era. Curated with intent.
