An Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon, ref. 310.92.44.51.01.001, from Omega's 2026 update of the collection, brand new in its box. The case and bezel are black ceramic at 44.25mm, with a Liquidmetal tachymeter scale on the bezel and a black ceramic dial sand-blasted by laser. The hands are blackened and coated in black Super-LumiNova, and against all of that darkness, the central chronograph hand is varnished in red, carrying the red accents across the dial. Inside is the hand-wound calibre 9908, a Master Chronometer with a column wheel and Co-Axial escapement, shown through a sapphire caseback in black edition finishing. The layout is the classic two-register Moonwatch: small seconds at nine, minutes and hours stacked at three. It is worn on a black strap and comes in its Omega presentation box.
The Dark Side of the Moon arrived in 2013 as the first all-ceramic Speedmaster, powered by the automatic calibre 9300. Over the next decade it became its own sub-family, with colour variants and anniversary editions spinning off from the original. In 2026, Omega rebuilt the line around Master Chronometer movements, certified by METAS and resistant to magnetic fields of 15,000 gauss. This reference took the hand-wound route with the calibre 9908, which brings the collection back to the manual winding of the Moonwatch itself. It removes the date and returns to the symmetrical two-register dial. It is the Dark Side of the Moon rebuilt around the same priorities as the original Speedmaster.
We sourced this watch for that one red hand. On a dial where everything else has been turned down to black on black, the moment you start the chronograph a single streak of red sweeps the dial, and nothing else on your wrist moves quite like it. The laser sand-blasted dial gives the ceramic a soft, almost lunar texture that changes in the light. Then there is the winding: a hand-wound Master Chronometer in a ceramic Speedmaster, a combination the original 9300 versions never offered. It is the stealth Speedmaster with a pulse. Curated with intent.
