Sold41mmStainless Steel

An Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Commander's Watch, ref. 212.32.41.20.04.001, the James Bond limited edition in steel. The white dial is ceramic, a first for the Seamaster line, and it sets up a blue and red palette borrowed straight from the Royal Navy: blue skeleton hands, a red seconds hand with a pistol-shaped counterweight. The bezel is blue ceramic with a Liquidmetal diving scale, its first fifteen minutes picked out in red. Even the date wheel plays along, with the number 7 printed in red and the rest in blue. Inside is the co-axial calibre 2507, its rotor engraved with naval rank stripes. It came on its steel bracelet.

Omega unveiled the Commander's Watch in July 2017, a limited edition of 7,007 pieces in steel. It honors the naval rank of Commander James Bond and marks three anniversaries at once: the 50th of You Only Live Twice, the 40th of The Spy Who Loved Me and the 20th of Tomorrow Never Dies, three films in which Bond appears in full naval uniform. The design draws on Royal Navy iconography from dial to rotor. The caseback carries the Commander's Watch name and the edition number. It arrived in the final years of the wave dial generation, before the 2018 redesign. Omega has made many Bond watches, but few have been this considered.

We sourced this watch because every detail on it means something. The white ceramic dial was a first for the Seamaster, and against it the blue and red read like a naval uniform rather than a color scheme. Look at the date: a red 7 among blue numerals, a 007 wink you only catch on the right day of the month. Turn it over and the rotor wears rank stripes. The red rubber on the first fifteen minutes of the bezel is the kind of finishing touch most limited editions skip. This is a Bond watch made with real affection for the character rather than a logo slapped on a dial. Curated with intent.
