A Cartier Pasha C, ref. 2324, in stainless steel at 35mm. The black dial is bold and graphic, with oversized Arabic numerals at the quarters, a railroad minute track and a date window. The crown is protected by the Pasha's signature cover, capped with a blue cabochon. Inside is an automatic movement. It is worn on Cartier's steel bracelet with its H-shaped links and deployant clasp, and it comes with its box.
Cartier introduced the Pasha in 1985, a round watch from a house better known for its squares. Its name draws on a story Cartier tells of the Pasha of Marrakech, who asked for a watch he could wear while swimming. The Pasha C followed in the 1990s as a smaller steel line, carrying the same bold design into everyday wear and opening the Pasha to a new generation of collectors.
We bought it for the crown. The protective cover with its blue cabochon is one of the best details Cartier ever put on a sports watch, part armour and part jewel. The black dial gives the big Arabic numerals real punch, and the railroad track around the edge keeps everything sharp. At 35mm it is compact and lively, and the steel bracelet with its H-shaped links is pure Pasha. A Cartier with personality to spare. Curated with intent.
